Bright Spot Activities and Points:
Library Card Drive
- Members organize and run an event to get as many members to sign up for new library cards as possible. This event may also include a tour of the local library or visit to the Club by the local librarian. The goal is to encourage more community youth to utilize the local library and inform them of all the resources available at the library such as computers, magazines, fun activities, videos and more. Points earned: a base of 100 points for holding the drive plus five (5) additional points for each member who gets a new library card.

Book Drive
- Members organize and run a book drive to collect as many youth-relevant books as possible for the Club. The goal is to grow the reading resources available to Club members and expose them to a wide variety of reading material. Points earned: a base of 100 points for holding the drive plus one (1) additional point for each book donated to the Club teen or learning center.

Teen-Written Book Review
- Tweens and teens write a review of their favorite book and submit it to myclubmylife.com. Many of the reviews will be published on the site. Reviews should be a minimum of six (6) full sentences and MUST be completely original and fully authored by the submitting member. Reviews should be written using language and grammar that is formal or informal and in a style engaging to other tweens and teens but appropriate for publication. Reviews may be submitted in either English or Spanish. Points earned: 50 points for each book review submitted.

Teen-Written Magazine or Web Article Review
- Tweens and teens write a review of their favorite book and submit it to myclubmylife.com. Many of the reviews will be published on the site. Reviews should be a minimum of six (6) full sentences and MUST be completely original and fully authored by the submitting member. Reviews should be written using language and grammar that is formal or informal and in a style engaging to other tweens and teens but appropriate for publication. Reviews may be submitted in either English or Spanish. Points earned: 25 points for each book review submitted.

Teen-Created book list
- Tweens and teens submit a list of 4-8 books that they recommend to their peers. Book lists can have a theme or just be the member’s favorite reads. Many of the lists will be published on myclubmylife.com. All book lists should be appropriate for a tween or teen audience. Points earned: 10 points for each book list submitted for publication on the site.

Reading Café
- Members plan and host an event to excite their peers about reading and spoken word. Space should be designated for an afternoon or evening for teen members to share spoken word performances or read from their favorite publications. Snacks, smoothies or coffee should be served to create a "Café" experience. Points earned: 100 points for hosting a cafe event and one (1) additional point for each member who participates.

Comments on MCML Stories
Members can write comments on myclubmylife.com about the articles posted. All comments must be appropriate for publication and must include a mention of the member’s Club for points record-keeping. Comments are submitted directly on myclubmylife.com by entering them into the comment section beneath the article. Members submitting comments must include their first name only, Club Unit name and City and State to be awarded points. (ex: Katie, Cope Branch, Denver, CO) ) or (ex: Katie, Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver, Cope Branch). Points earned: five (5) points each time a member publishes a comment on one of the MCML stories on the book section.

Contest Rules
Members ages 12-18 are eligible to participate in designated contest activities each month. Members will earn points for successfully completing the activities outlined above. No points will be awarded after midnight of August 31, 2010.
Prizes
At the end of each month, the Club unit or branch with the most points will win a prize: $250 for first place, $100 for second and $50 for third. At the end of the third month, the Club with the most points accumulated over both months will be awarded the grand prize: $500.
