It wasn't always easy but our six Teen Tech Innovation Clubs persevered to finish their unique projects this spring
Innovation is never necessarily easy!
Just ask our six Teen Tech Innovation Clubs. Starting last fall, the Clubs were given the task of coming up with innovative projects using technology and were asked to document them here on myclubmylife.com.
All of the projects presented unique challenges -- for example, the King Co. (Wash.) BGC had to map out ways to make a phone app that allowed users to track down Clubs in the state and the Van Buren (Ark.) Club used GPS to bring old graves and headstones back to life in a local cemetary.
But the Haslam Family Center Club of the Tennessee Valley was as innovative as anyone! Their online radio project, Radio BGC, was a hit from the start as members immediately took to their role as young journalists.
Among the interviews and celebrities they scored for the show were appearances by Alyse Eady, the first runner-up in the Miss America contest this past winter and Tennessee women's basketball coach Pat Summitt, who is a legend in her field!
And at the 2011 National Keystone Conference in March in Orlando, hard-working and enterprising radio host Ian of Radio BGC interviewed celebrities and experts, and members of the Keystone Steering Committee to get the scoop on what goes on behinds the scenes!
Check out the work of Radio BGC and all of our Clubs involved in the 2010-'11 Teen Tech Innovation project and applaud their success!
