Using Technology to Help Others
Enter our contest by thinking of innovative ways that technology can help bolster your Club's community service projects, more!

  • Our latest contest focuses on ways technology can help in service
  • Submit an entry that shows tech helping others like text donations
  • A first-place cash prize of $100 goes to the entry receiving the most votes

As you have come to discover in this corner (Innovation) of myclubmylife.com, technology can be innovative and useful in a lot of ways other than the latest game or gadget. It has everyday implications that go way beyond ordinary fun!

That's the purpose our latest contest -- thinking of ways that technology can help with projects that serve the community and others. We are talking ways that high tech is of high service!

An example could be something you are perhaps already doing -- using Twitter, Facebook or other social media to promote your community service projects at your local Club. Or, as in the case of the recent tragedy in Japan, relief agencies have been urging people to use their cellphones to donate small amounts (like $10) that are charged to your account by the cell phone provider but go immediately to assist in relief efforts in that country.

For this contest, we want to hear YOUR innovative ideas for how technology can be used to help! It's simple and easy but it also gets you thinking about ways to reach out to help others. Technology that serves rather than just entertains!

Contest Rules and Prizes

To enter the contest, simply come up with a unique response to this question: How can technology provide new and innovative ways to enhance community service and/or philanthropy efforts? Think local or global -- just think!

E-mail each entry to content@myclubmylife.com (make sure the subject line says "Innovation Contest 3"), snail mail to Kelvin Sims, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, 1275 Peachtree St. NE, Atlanta, GA 30309, or upload directly to us at myclubmylife.com/upload! Enter as often as you like!

The top 10 responses that are selected by our staff will be posted on the site for others to vote on. The top three will win cash prizes from myclubmylife.com. And these prizes go directly to YOU, and not to your Club!

The first place winner will receive $100; the second place winner gets $50 and third place gets $25.

Deadline for the contest is before midnight on May 1, 2011! Good luck!
