Bringing School Back
It's back to school cool around these Chilly parts and it's our 'Destiny' to make it a great, chill year!
Kelvin Sims
  • The Chill Spot is all a go-go for back to school
  • King James makes an Akron Clubhouse look like royal digs!
  • Kevin Durant's flashiness is what we want to see -- not silly flash mobbing!

To put an old Justin Timberlake tune in the mix, we're bringing school back!

Cool for School! The bells are ringing in some places and that means that learning is in session. Check it out this week as we put a laser focus on back to school. Kelly Rowland hasn’t slowed down since Destiny’s Child and she was out with myclubmylife.com to overcome any "hurdles" that might be in your back-to-school path.

It's what we do! "All I Do Is Win" by DJ Khaled might have been the song of the summer! And this hyped jam is just the soundtrack we're rolling to as you pick the books back up for school! Winning -- it's what we're doing this school year!

A Clubhouse fit for a King! Now this is why around these Chilly parts, you best not say nothing bad about Ms. James's boy! LeBron James, who took criticism all year after leaving Cleveland in the manner he did, nevertheless has been nothing but Kingly for the Clubs over the past year. His latest golden touch passed down to a Club was opening the LeBron James Clubhouse in the Akron Boys & Girls Clubs just this week. With $240,000 from his foundation used to renovate the Club, James makes sure Akron youth get to score like he does. Classy move there, King James!

Green for your back pack! Go back to school just a bit healthier. Our latest Positive Sprouts activity will show how an old box or crate is the perfect place to grow delicious veggies! We're thinking inside the box, yo!

Straight chillin, homie! As for all of you in places where school hasn't started, we see ya! Keep enjoying summer! But don't forget -- the bell tolls for you soon as well! Get prepared!

Flash silliness! Now this a warning to all who think flash mobs that involve anything violent or against the law are funny: It is not! It's been in the news that young folks in places like Philly, Cleveland and Milwaukee have used texts and social networking to form large flash mobs that loot or physically harm others just for sport. There is nothing entertaining about stealing or hurting others! Remember the unofficial Club creed: Help, not harm others!

Straight ballin'! We see ya Kevin Durant -- our favorite NBA baller with Club ties! The former BGC of Greater Washington product might be illin' in the League as the top scorer the past two seasons but he shows the local parks some love as well. He poured in 67 in a game at famed Rucker Street park in the NYC last week! If you can make in it NYC, you can make it anywhere! Now put that jumper away until the season starts, KD! That thing is lethal!
