10 Things We Hate About Cell Phones
We love the access cellies provide, not the rude behavior it inspires. Here's 10 ways to tell if you're a cell cretin and how to correct it!

No one likes the person whose phone rings during a movie or the rude customer who barely pays attention to the cashier while talking on the phone. With July being National Cell Phone Courtesy Month, we offer you -- or somebody you may know --- the following tips to improve electronic etiquette.
- Don't Talk/Text and Drive: Don’t drive and talk on your phone at the same time. It poses danger to yourself and those around you. This goes double for texting!
- No Cell Yell: Maintain a conversational tone. Many people who use cell phones appear to shout, not knowing they are speaking louder than they should.
- Don't Be a Clerk Jerk: When checking out at a store, don't continue talking on the phone. It's rude and disrespectful to the clerk -- and everybody there thinks you're a jerk.
- Text Instead: Send a text when a phone call would be rude, like during a meeting. This relays a message quickly without interrupting a public setting.
- Stay Cool: Don't display anger when you're on a public call. Emotional conversations that should be held where they won't embarrass or intrude on others.
- Be Present: At meetings, performances or any event, let calls go to voicemail and don’t text a reply to missed messages. Avoid disrupting those around you by setting your phone to silent or turning it off completely.
- Respect Requests: At a hospital, on airplanes or any place that restricts mobile phones, respect the rules. Regulations aren’t set up to inconvenience you. They’re for safety, security and courtesy to those around you.
- Be Polite: Expecting a call you can’t postpone? Alert anyone you’re with before getting up and answering it. The people you’re hanging with are probably more important than whoever's on the line.
- Vibe On: In public settings like movies, classrooms or meetings, set your phone to vibrate or silent mode.
- Use Discretion: Save yourself and others needless embarassment. Be aware of your surroundings and save private matters for when you’re in private.

Gabe from Boys and Girls Club of Henderson County | | i agree with this article because it is true, their is places that u should definetly remember to put your cell phone on silent or on vibrate, like for example at church, whenever i go to church and someones cell phone rings it stops us from being able to concentrate on what the priest is talking about, like at school it inturupts our learning when a cell phone rings. people should definetly not text or talk on a cell phone while driving, i would say its as dangerous as being under the influence of alcohol while driving.-Lizeth Huapilla P. -Boys and Girls club of Henderson county | | I know how some people would feel when someone pull out a cell during important convention, it's just plain rude and annoy.
