Break the Record, Jack!
Get a move on March 22 as Clubs across the country try to set a world record for Jumping Jacks during Boys & Girls Club Week!

  • Boys & Girls Clubs are attempting to set a world record for Jumping Jacks
  • "Star Jumping" record attempt will take place March 22nd across the country
  • Everyone is encouraged to join in for some exercise and lots of fun!

Get kicking as Boys & Girls Clubs of America attempts to break the Guinness World Record for Jumping Jacks (also known as Star Jumping in some countries because the arms, legs and head form a five-pointed star) on March 22!

This record is for the most people Star Jumping simultaneously at multiple venues for two consecutive minutes. Boys & Girls Club members, parents, staff, board members and others in their communities are encouraged to participate on the attempt at Tuesday, March 22, 2011 (during National Boys & Girls Club Week!) at 6:30 p.m. EST (5:30 p.m. CST; 4:30 p.m. MST; and 3:30 p.m. PST).

This effort will bring attention to the importance of young people living healthy, active lifestyles and how Boys & Girls Clubs help fill this need every day. Clubs do this through programs like Triple Play, BGCA’s health and wellness program that encourages kids to eat healthier, become more physically active and increase their ability to engage in healthy relationships.

Have your advisor or Club staff visit here and click under "Today’s Feature" for more information on how to get involved. For questions, contact Kharimasud Olufemi, director, Sports, Fitness & Recreation, BGCA, at kolufemi@bgca.org.
