It’s been a while, but Microsoft has finally planned the release for the newest addition to its MP3 family. The third generation Zune HD, is the company’s first touch screen MP3 player device. It promises some radical new features.

HD Radio: What has made the Zune device unique from its iPod rival that it has a radio. Now users can tag songs they hear on the radio to buy later. You can also tune to any station with clear reception and even channel radio stations in other countries.

Touchscreen: The Zune now has multi-touch navigation that allows for stellar connection and search capabilities.

New Design: Generation 3 might just be the black sheep in the family. The new device boasts a sleek, thin design and 3.3”-inch screen — large enough to view clear images and display movies with HD resolution.

Wireless: No need to plug in USB cords to get your favorite songs on the Zune. Zune HD has the capability to browse and shop tunes at Wi-Fi spots. The web browser includes tap-to-zoom technology and touch-screen QWERTY board.

The new Zune will also have connectivity with Microsoft’s Xbox and the ability to wirelessly sync music to the device. Zune HD is available for purchase September 5. No purchase price has yet been announced.
